Simeon Woods Richardson
Simeon Woods Richardson Flops against Boston
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 6:13 PM
Woods Richardson (0-3) took the loss Wednesday as the Twins fell 9-5 to the Red Sox, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out three.
Analysis: A three-run homer by Trevor Story in the third inning was the biggest blow, and he didn't get a lot of help from his defense, but Woods Richardson dealt with traffic on the basepaths in every frame before mercifully getting the hook after 92 pitches (57 strikes). The right-hander has been tagged for 12 runs (11 earned) over his last two outings, and he'll carry a 6.10 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 11:7 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next start, which is set to come on the road next week against the Mets.
Travis Adams
Travis Adams Cleared for rehab assignment
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 3:51 PM
Adams (triceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Fort Myers on Wednesday, Theodore Tollefson of Zone Coverage reports.
Analysis: Adams has been sidelined all season with a triceps issue that first popped up in early March. Given the long layoff, he's sure to require multiple rehab starts before the Twins decide to add him to the big-league roster or keep him in the minors.
Victor Caratini
Victor Caratini Drawing 10th straight start
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 9:24 AM
Caratini will start at designated hitter and will bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Analysis: Though Caratini doesn't sit atop the depth chart at any spot, he's been able to see steady playing time this season through his duties as the Twins' backup catcher and as a platoon partner for the left-handed-hitting Kody Clemens. Caratini will draw his 10th consecutive start Wednesday, with six coming at first base or DH against lefties and the other four coming as a catcher versus righties when Ryan Jeffers has received a breather.
Trevor Larnach
Trevor Larnach Idle for series finale
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 9:17 AM
Larnach is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Larnach will sit for the second time in the series while the Red Sox send another southpaw (Connelly Early) to the bump for the finale. A career .215/.276/.317 hitter against lefties, Larnach will likely continue to see limited exposure to same-handed pitching throughout the season.
Tristan Gray
Tristan Gray Part of platoon at hot corner
Wed, Apr 15, 2026, 9:14 AM
Gray is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Analysis: Since Royce Lewis landed on the injured list Friday due to a sprained left knee, the Twins have used Gray and Ryan Kreidler in a platoon at third base. With southpaw Connelly Early on the hill for Boston in the series finale, the right-handed-hitting Kreidler will get the nod at third base, though Gray should stand to see a larger volume of the opportunities at the position while Lewis is shelved.
Brooks Lee
Brooks Lee Homers again Tuesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 10:56 PM
Lee went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Red Sox.
Analysis: Lee continued his recent power surge, leading off the fourth inning with a solo homer off Sonny Gray -- his third long ball of the season. After a slow start to the year, the young infielder has caught fire, homering three times over his last five games. During that stretch, Lee has gone 6-for-19 with six RBI and three runs scored, showing signs that he may be settling into a groove at the plate.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Goes deep twice in four-hit day
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 10:44 PM
Buxton went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four runs scored in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Red Sox.
Analysis: Buxton stayed hot at the plate, launching two homers that both traveled over 400 feet as part of a huge four-hit performance. His first came off Sonny Gray in the third inning on the first pitch of the frame, and he added another solo shot in the sixth. It was the 18th multi-homer game of Buxton's career and came one day after he hit his first long ball of the season. The center fielder now appears to be finding his power stroke, slashing .246/.306/.462 with three homers, four RBI and 15 runs scored on the year.
Mick Abel
Mick Abel Fans career-high 10 in dominant win
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 10:09 PM
Abel (1-2) earned the win Tuesday against the Red Sox, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out 10 over seven innings.
Analysis: Abel turned in the best start of his young career, tossing seven scoreless innings while setting a new career high in strikeouts with 10. The right-hander was overpowering throughout, including a stretch where he struck out five consecutive batters. After a rocky start to the season, Abel has looked dominant over his last two outings, combining for 16 strikeouts and no runs allowed across 13 innings. The 24-year-old has now lowered his season ERA to 3.98 with a 1.57 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB across 20.1 innings and will look to stay hot in his next scheduled start against a Mets lineup that has gotten off to a sluggish start offensively.
Ryan Jeffers
Ryan Jeffers Resting Tuesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 4:07 PM
Jeffers is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Red Sox.
Analysis: The final game of the three-game set between the Red Sox and Twins is a day game Wednesday, so Jeffers is getting some added rest the night before. Victor Caratini is making a start behind the plate and is batting sixth Tuesday.
Simeon Woods Richardson
Simeon Woods Richardson Ready to start Wednesday
Tue, Apr 14, 2026, 11:47 AM
Woods Richardson (illness) is listed as the Twins' probable starter for Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox at Target Field.
Analysis: Prior to his most recent start Friday in Toronto, Woods Richardson was feeling ill but fought through the ailment and took a loss while yielding five earned runs on six hits and one walk over four innings. The Twins never indicated that Woods Richardson was at risk of missing his next start, and he'll presumably be in better physical condition when he takes the hill for the fourth time this season Wednesday.
Ryan Jeffers
Ryan Jeffers Drives in three runs
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:27 PM
Jeffers went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two additional RBI, two additional runs scored and a walk in Monday's 13-6 victory over Boston.
Analysis: Jeffers had a big day at the plate, driving in three runs, highlighted by a 108.2 mph solo homer in the fifth inning. It's been a strong start to the season for the 28-year-old backstop, who is now slashing .317/.440/.512 with two homers, two doubles, 10 runs and 10 RBI through 12 appearances.
Bailey Ober
Bailey Ober Goes six innings in win
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 11:24 PM
Ober (2-0) earned the win Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings against the Red Sox. He struck out seven.
Analysis: Ober wasn't at his best but picked up his second win of the campaign, backed by a strong showing from the Twins' offense. While four earned runs isn't ideal, the right-hander's seven strikeouts matched his combined total from his first three outings of the season, a positive development. Through four starts in 2026, Ober owns a 5.49 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with a 14:5 K:BB across 19.2 innings.
Kody Clemens
Kody Clemens Idle against lefty
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 4:30 PM
Clemens is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
Analysis: With southpaw Garrett Crochet on the bump for Boston, the left-handed-hitting Clemens will hit the bench while Victor Caratini steps in for him at first base. Clemens has now been excluded from the lineup in six of the last eight games, though the Twins have faced five lefty starters during that stretch.
Ryan Kreidler
Ryan Kreidler Another start versus lefty
Mon, Apr 13, 2026, 3:25 PM
Kreidler will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's contest versus the Red Sox.
Analysis: Kreidler has now started both games against lefties since being recalled over the weekend. He and Tristan Gray should continue to form a platoon at third base while Royce Lewis (knee) is sidelined.
Taj Bradley
Taj Bradley Limits damage in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 7:12 PM
Bradley (3-0) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and four walks with seven strikeouts over five innings.
Analysis: Bradley allowed a run in the first inning before rebounding with four scoreless frames, despite throwing just 62 of 106 pitches for strikes and issuing a season-high four walks. While he wasn't sharp Sunday, the 25-year-old has now won three straight contests and has yielded just three total earned runs over four starts to open the season. He'll carry a 1.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB across 21.2 innings into a home matchup against the Reds next weekend.
Tristan Gray
Tristan Gray Homers in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 6:06 PM
Gray went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Gray got the Twins on the board with a three-run blast off Max Scherzer in the second inning. The 30-year-old is off to an impressive start to the campaign, going 6-for-22 with three extra-base hits and 12 RBI across eight games. While it's still unclear how long Royce Lewis (knee) will be sidelined, Gray stands to benefit from the additional opportunities in the meantime.
Luke Keaschall
Luke Keaschall Swipes bag in win
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 6:01 PM
Keaschall went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 8-2 win over the Blue Jays.
Analysis: Keaschall singled and scored in the third inning before adding another hit and a stolen base in the fourth. It marked just his second multi-hit effort of the season, as he's struggled to get going at the plate. On the year, the 23-year-old is slashing .213/.269/.279 with one home run, seven RBI, nine runs scored and three steals across 67 plate appearances.
Victor Caratini
Victor Caratini Piling up starts
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 11:05 AM
Caratini will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: With top backstop Ryan Jeffers receiving the afternoon off, Caratini will fill in behind the dish in what marks the latter's seventh consecutive start. Caratini has made three starts at first base, three at catcher and one at designated hitter during that stretch, but he's largely benefited from the Twins facing four left-handed starters in those seven games. The Twins are still likely to use Caratini on more of a part-time basis against right-handed pitching.
Austin Martin
Austin Martin Back on bench vs. righty
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 11:02 AM
Martin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: The right-handed-hitting Martin had been included in four of the Twins' last five games, but all of those starts came against left-handed pitching. The Twins still appear to be treating Martin mostly as a short-side platoon player, so he'll likely continue to sit against most righties while Minnesota uses Trevor Larnach, Byron Buxton and Matt Wallner as its primary outfield configuration.
Byron Buxton
Byron Buxton Receiving afternoon off
Sun, Apr 12, 2026, 10:58 AM
Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Analysis: With the Twins closing out their series in Toronto with a day game, Buxton will rest for just the second time in the team's first 16 contests of the season. James Outman will enter the starting nine in center field in place of Buxton.
